| More Steam Downloads.... | 17 September 2003 |
| Ok, the initial rush to get Steam and all the related Half-Life MODs I think has now past its peak for the broadband Half-Life community, now its just a case of the stragglers (those poor modem/ISDN users, you got to feel for them) getting hold of the files they need.
For the full information and more mirror locations look at the , but as always the has all the files you're going to need on nice fast downloads (well they are fast for me at least!), for more on Blueyonder Gaming you should go their official site . |

| Steam : Official Windows Client Released! | 13 September 2003 |
| You are now able to download the new Steam client from (http://gamefiles.blueyonder.co.uk), for those community members who are already aware that there are numerous spiralling on about how disorganised, unresponsive and buggy the Steam software has been to-date. I can emphasise with all these 'bleeding edge' patch-installers in the Half-Life gaming community, as myself too have had a whole plethora of problems with this release.
Having said that, right this instant the Steam client software does indeed *appear* to be downloading patches and updates to my Half-Life installation... so one would hope that the initial few days of consistent 'teething' problems have now been overcome.
For more information on Steam, take a look at the , http://www.steampowered.com... assuming its online! :)

| Deal with Game-on radio! | 18 June 2003 |
| Yes thats right people, just had a nice chat with the friendly people over at gameon-radio. They are a relativly new radio station who are trying to fill up the void UKTFR left, and are doing a great job so far. We agreed on a total of 8 matches to cover, starting with the playoff game tonight. After that the 3 round2 games will get coverage (see newspost bellow), then the 2 semis and finally the finals. Hope this will make the ride more enjoyable for players and spectators :)
Game on radio can be contacted on irc on #gameon-radio (quakenet) or by visiting .
P.S. Im still on the lookout for HLTV's so if you have got good ones, please feel free to contact me on #etfcl. |

| Playoff game | 18 June 2003 |
| After thinking about it, I decided playing the second round with only 7 clans would be a bit of a shambles. If you look at all the 3rd ranked clans from the other groups, you see ERA LOG and TE. However ERA already split up, so LOG and TE will get a playoff game for the remaining round2 spot.
The game will be played on 2fort (LOG choice) and shutdown2 (TE choice). The game will go on caps, and if thats a draw after 2 maps a round of 2fort golden cap will be played, first clan to 2 caps. Good luck to both clans. Ill see if i can sort HLTV out, or maybe even shoutcast coverage. |

| ETFCL Round 2 start | 17 June 2003 |
| Yes thats right people! This sunday on June 22nd, round2 of this ETFCL season will kick off. The exams are over, the holidays have arrived and its time for some quality TFC league play.
First some bad news: UA have folded and they will not be participating in round2. They will not be replaced as there is no clan left in the poule to replace them :|
The groups have been decided. Rather then organising a draw, the second ranked clans were seeded in the round2 group diffrent from the one from the group winner in round1. This gives us the following groups:
Poule A
BAD
187
MsA
mcl
Poule B
BC
rats
DW
The fixtures and map lists are as followed, the site will be updated soon with this information:
Week 1 (2fort oppose2k1)
BAD 187
MsA mcl
BC rats
22/6 to 28/6
Week 2 (shutdown2 monkey_l)
BAD mcl
MsA 187
DW BC
29/6 to 5/7
Week 3 (openfire_l well)
BAD MsA
187 mcl
DW rats
6/7 to 12/7
The following games will get extra coverage:
Week1: BAD 187
Week2: DW BC
Week3: 187 mcl
Can the clans involved in these games arrange them as soon as possible and give me the date and time of the match. This should be done before this sunday if possible. Will make my work a lot easier ;)
Also, no catch up week is forseen. Seeing how most leagues in Europe are in between seasons, this shouldn't be a problem at all. Good luck to the clans involved! |

| New ETAC guidelines | 24 May 2003 |
| It is our experience that players have not been recording demos until they have recieved an official warning. This situation cannot continue... Because of this, we decided to rethink the rules regarding demo recordings.
So from now on, you will need to be able to provide demos from the last 3 official games you played, regardless when these games were played. And as of today, if you can not provide 2 demos of your last 3 matches, you will be handed a 10 day ban, with this increasing if you continue to refuse to record. (this means we allow an odd "forgot to record" as long as you can back it up with 2 other working demos)
We had hoped to avoid such strict punishments, demo-recording is for the benifit of all players, it is just a shame that so few people have been complying with the new regulations. |

| Result of round 1 | 19 May 2003 |
| After Round1, the following clans still remain in the competition: First group are the clans who won their group, all with flawless records:
BAD (BE)
BC (UK)
187 (UK)
DW (UK)
These clans will be put together into two new groups as followed: Group A: BAD and 187, Group B: BC and DW. The runner ups from each group wil be drafted into either Group A, either Group B. These are:
UA (UK) (<=first clan ever to reach the next round without winning a single game)
MsA (SE)
r@ts (GER)
mcl (UK-PT) ;p
We then have 2 groups of each 4 clans. They will play eachother in 3 weeks time. First 2 will qualify to go to the semi-finals. Since I am in the middle of my exams, and so are a lot of players these days, round2 will start either on sunday the 14th of June, either on the 21st. A week before the round starts, the maps for round2 will be announced and the runner up clans will be drafted, more news on that later. Then all I need to say is: Congratulations to the clans who qualified for Round2, and thanks for playing to the clans who didn't make it, untill next season! Now its time for the battle of the titans in Round2, with UKTFR and HLTV on the big games ;o
P.S.: 2 results are still missing on the tables, ill get them on asap but doesnt really matter |

| Half-Life 2 - OMG! | 17 May 2003 |
| Back in the day (before Half-Life was released, September 1998 I think) I was totally clued up on all the cool new fangled technologies in the game, all the weapons, all the monsters and the storyline - essentially I kind of spoilt a large part of the enjoyment of the game before I'd even played it... not to mention waiting on tender-hooks as the games release date slipped and slipped! Actually no I lie, it was so awesome I loved it all the more... but the potential for disappointment was there nonetheless.
So here is where you get the choice, do you want to potentially spoil your future enjoyment of Half-Life 2 (yes that's a 2 in the title) or on the other hand are you craving that once-in-a-decade, mouth-watering, pant wetting and thoroughly scrumptious taste can only be attained by drooling over a myriad of high quality movies of (blatantly) the next 'standard setting' game?
Without further ado, if you haven't already seen this massive amount of in-game footage of HL2 being previewed at then I suggest you close down Kazaa because you're going to need all your precious bandwidth to download this ~220MB selection of HL2 movies released initially by and now graciously mirrored by over on their ftp site, so without further ado !
News seen first on . Oh and HL2 apparently has an alleged release date of the 3rd October 2003 on . |

| VABQ inactive | 08 May 2003 |
| Due to player problems VABQ decided to give default for the remaining games they had to play. All VABQ results will be removed accordingly, which means tonights game between LBU and UA will decide who will join BAD in the second round. Good luck both teams and may the best win! |
